The Knicks Beat the Nets, But It Didn't Seem To Matter Much

NEW YORK — On any other night, Sunday's Knicks-Nets showdown at Madison Square Garden would've been a triumph for the home team, winning 110-97. ... And yet, to feel the energy in Madison Square Garden before and during the game, as well as the atmosphere in the locker room after, the result of the game didn't seem to matter much at all to anyone. All that mattered Sunday night was honoring Kobe Bryant, following the death of him, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other passengers on Sunday morning in a helicopter accident in Calabasas, California.

Knicks-Nets Rivalry Game Takes a Back Seat to Tragic Kobe Bryant News

NEW YORK — Madison Square Garden was buzzing as usual prior to what should have been a rivalry matchup of the two cross-town New York teams, albeit it with their recent struggles. The buzz was different, however, and how could it not be? Following the shocking news that rocked the NBA on Sunday afternoon of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna’s tragic deaths in a helicopter accident outside of Calabasas, California on Sunday morning, the entire NBA and sports world at large has been reeling.

P&T interviews Kevin Knox (again!)

No, this isn’t déjà vu. Posting and Toasting dot com got to interview Kevin Knox for a second time this year! I got an email from Tissot earlier last week asking if I’d like to come to Times Square on Sunday and interview Knox. As a seasoned New Jersey-to-New York commuter, I knew that I’d be taking my life into my own hands by entering the heart of Consumerville during peak holiday shopping and tourism time, but I figured meeting Kev would be well worth it.

Magic 115, Knicks 89: 'Zion.'

Let’s start with a song: Some indy song by some indy band. Doubt you’ve heard of them. But basically the song is about it being the end of the world, and the singer being fine with that. That’s roughly how I felt during tonight’s unpredictable 115-89 slaughter at the hands of the 5-7 (now 6-7) Orlando Magic. This game sucked. And during some previous years with much higher expectations, this game might have been an early-season playoff-hope-dashing back-breaker.

South Brunswick shuts out Trenton football in Central Jersey, Group 5 semifinals

MONMOUTH JUNCTION -- The Trenton High football team came into Friday night's NJSIAA/Sports Care Institute Central Jersey, Group 5 semifinal showdown against South Brunswick eyeing another upset after last week's comeback victory over Montgomery. But the Tornadoes' brief and magical run came to an end in a 33-0 loss to the Vikings. Trenton struggled to get anything going all night on offense, while South Brunswick senior quarterback Amir Johnson ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third.

Knicks Snap Three-Game Skid, Thrash Cavs

If there was ever a team to break a losing streak against... well, normally one might say "It's the Knicks." In the case of Monday evening, for a Knicks team trying to break its own losing streak, it was the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Knicks, losers of three straight games, went on an unusual road trip on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to Cleveland, rather than their standard Madison Square Garden matinee. The Cavs, meanwhile, were trying to snap their own four-game skid.

Clippers 128, Knicks 107: "Was about to turn on the game, then I saw the score."

Some of you may know, but I host a pretty great Knicks podcast these days (Locked On Knicks, available wherever podcasts are sold!). That, combined with my duties on P&T, means that I’m now subjected to watching basically every Knicks game ever. We’re 63 games into the 82 game season. This game? I’d easily classify this 128-107 loss to the Clippers as one of the worst this year. It really did check all the boxes, too!

Things Were Just a Little Different This Time

Just over a week ago, on Nov. 10, Knicks front office Steve Mills and Scott Perry hosted an impromptu press conference condemning the Knicks' effort and consistency after an embarrassing home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. While not explicitly saying so -- when asked directly, Mills and Perry expressed confidence in David Fizdale -- the implication was that, if things don't start looking up soon, Fizdale could be on the hot seat.

Get To Know The Prospect: Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. has thus far been a pretty polarizing draft prospect. Some say he’s great, maybe even amazing. Some say he could be a bust. Others simply say he’s mysterious. But most importantly, if reports are to be believed, he could maybe be the apple of the Knicks’ eye. None of that mattered yesterday though, during a mild summer evening in midtown when I was invited to come interview Porter at the LIDS on 42nd street by New Era Cap, the official cap of the NBA draft.

Wizards 121, Knicks 115: Lack of focus costs the Knicks again

If all the Knicks wanted for Christmas was a win on their final game before the holiday... well, let's just say they must have not been on the "nice" list this year. New York snuck out of the first half with a one-point lead, but uninspired play to open the second half led to a 14-0 run by the Wizards, which ultimately put enough distance between the two teams for Washington to pull off a 121-115 victory. That's not to say the Knicks didn't make a game of it. What looked like it could have bee

The Mike Miller Era Is Set To Begin

A new chapter begins for the Knicks tonight, but it certainly won’t be an easy task for the 4-18 ’Bockers to open the Mike Miller era. The Indiana Pacers (14-8) visit the Garden on Saturday night, winners of seven of their last nine games, but coming in for the second game of a road back-to-back after a tight loss to the Detroit Pistons Friday night on the road. Of course, it’s not like a win is the sole indicator of a “good” performance for the Knicks tonight under Miller. Just losing by 20 p

Pelicans Bury Knicks With Red-Hot Perimeter Shooting

The Knicks have made a habit of lax perimeter defense this season, usually committing to a strategy of attempting to lock down the paint and daring teams to beat them from deep. They did just that, daring the Pelicans to beat them from the perimeter on Friday night. And, well, it didn't work at all in the Knicks' favor as they lost, 123-111, allowing New Orleans to shoot a preposterous 47.4% from deep (18-38) over the course of the game.

Finding a new team for the "Infuriated New York Knicks fan"

As you may or may not have heard, an idiot named [REDACTED], AKA “Infuriated New York Knicks fan,” is currently selling his fandom on eBay in the hopes of finding a new team. Note: Before we get any further, other than the article I’m about to link, I refuse to actually give [REDACTED] the satisfaction of using his name and linking his Twitter or eBay. Find it yourself, if you’re so inclined. Or don’t! He doesn’t deserve the publicity.
